First Week of Febuary

This week I encountered several difficulties when I began work on the cambered corner, originally I planned to build this using BSP brushes in unreal, but because the yaw and roll do not change relative to the object there is a stepping effect that becomes most visable once the corner has undergone 45 degrees of it's turn.

Another problem I have encountered which I have been unable to explain so far is a series of black dots that cover the map in a broad arc from one side to the other.

Fourth Week of January

This week I worked on filling the lake and the valley with water for the water and airborne sections of the race course. I also added a waterfall leading from the lake to the valley and while it looks good as it is I am going to add partical emmiters to both the top as excess water spray and the bottom as mist thrown up from the river.

Third Week of January

This week I began work on some 3D work, I began by roughly constructing the model for the stands which will go on either side of the start/finish line in the 3D map.

I was new to using 3D studio max so I began quite simply using large simple shapes and once the proportions and layout of the model were clear began replacing them with more intricate shapes to give the model more detail.
